About Morse Code

Morse code was developed in the 1830s by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail for telegraph communication. This ingenious system revolutionized long-distance communication and remained vital for maritime, aviation, and amateur radio for over a century.

The code uses just two basic elements to represent all letters and numbers:

Dot (·) - Short signal
Dash (−) - Long signal (3x dot length)
Letters A-Z
Numbers 0-9
